New Autodesk software for Mac OS X

To coincide with the Macworld expo in San Fransisco Autodesk has announced three new software releases for the Mac! They are:

  • Autodesk Toxik 2009 (available March 2009). A node-based digital compositing software with powerful, integrated compositing and effects capabilities.
  • Autodesk Mudbox 2009 (available February 2009). A highly intuitive application for painting, texturing and re-touching 3D models.
  • Autodesk ImageModeler 2009 (available March 2009). An Image-based modeling and photogrammetry software that generates 3D models from photographs.

Also available for Mac since before is of course Autodesk Maya and Autodesk Stitcher.

Autodesk acquires Softimage

As you probably have heard Autodesk has signed an agreement with Avid to acquire Softimage! Autodesk will continue developing and selling all the great Sofimage products like XSI and Face Robot. The acquisition is expected to close in November. For more information visit:
